Marie-Antoinette
Nœud-Nœud mug Trianon
In the intimacy of Marie-Antoinette, at the Petit Trianon, nature flirts with ornamentation. The seemingly wild garden reflects the queen’s multifaceted personality. Strolls through groves, a lush vegetable garden, rose-covered arches, multicolored flowers, rockeries, the modernity of the place, and the French art of living. Our mugs are hand-painted with colored glazes, then fired in the kiln a third time.

A world of ribbons
At the Petit Trianon, Marie-Antoinette traded the gold of Versailles for something more authentic: a farm, animals, a kitchen garden, strolls through the rose garden, pastoral teas, bouquets of freshly picked flowers, delicate and feminine décors, and little bows pinned to the ladies' dresses and hair. The Nœud-Nœud collection keeps that spirit alive: fine ribbons tied onto the faïence just as the queen loved them, designed by Mathilde Carron-Astier de Villatte with the complicity of Marie-Antoinette herself.

One bow at a time
In our workshop in the south of France, a hand applies, one by one, to each bow the shade you have so carefully chosen. The piece is made of faïence: a black clay fired at high temperature, then coated in a white glaze, glossy and milky. Shaped by hand, the bows take on, under our brush, the colour of your desires. Slight variations in tone and brushstroke are the signature of the hand at work, never a flaw.
